GE announces the release of the Enhanced version of P40 Agile feeder protection. Protection functions have an accelerated 2ms execution pass, securing faster fault clearance. Additionally, new elements respond to harmonics induced by renewable generation on the Grid, thanks to 64 samples/cycle acquisition and harmonic measurement up to the 21st order. Enhanced cybersecurity defences are native, along with support of IEC 61850 Edition 2 and the ability to switch between any serial and Ethernet protocols by simple menu selection. A compact 4U x 4-inch width case now accommodates up to 11 binary inputs and 11 binary outputs, plus concurrent Ethernet and serial communication ports. The depth occupied behind the panel is reduced to 160mm, easing retrofitting challenges.
