Javier Martín Herrera

Javier Martín Herrera received his bachelor Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Madrid (Carlos III) and joined RED ELECTRICA in 2003. He works as a “protection man” always related to the protection´s coordination of high voltage on the Spanish power system. He has successfully completed many R&D projects and participates in CIGRE B4 / B5 working groups. Additionally, Javier is an electrical engineering professor at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICAI of Madrid, where he has been responsible for electrical protection issues for 12 years.
His great passion is to spend time with his wife and three children. He loves skiing in the winter and the beach in the summer …, but above all he loves to travel around the world…

Gilmar Francisco Krefta
Gilmar Francisco Krefta was born in Curitiba, PR- Brazil. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from UTFPR in 1985. He completed his Specialization in Digital Technology in 1998 from UTFPR. He holds a master’s degree in Energy Systems from UFPR – 2008. He was a System Protection Engineer at Copel G & T from 1988 to 2016. He is currently working at the Operations Center as an Electrical Studies Engineer at Copel G & T.
Gilmar loves the outdoors and in his spare time he enjoys horse-riding.

Yi Hu
Yi Hu, Director of Quanta Technology, has over 30 years’ experience and is a leading expert in the synchronized measurement based Wide-Area Monitoring, Protection, automation, and Control systems deployment and applications. Dr. Hu is an IEEE fellow who had contributed to the development of several synchronized measurement technology related IEEE standards. He currently chairs an IEEE working group to develop an “IEEE Guide for Engineering, Implementation, and Management of System Integrity Protection Schemes.” Yi holds 13 U.S. patents, and has published multiple technical papers and articles in Refereed Journals and
Conference Proceedings.
He loves nature and in his spare time he enjoys hiking in the outdoors.

Carlos Eduardo Ferreira Pimentel
Carlos Eduardo Ferreira Pimentel was born in Guarapuava, PR-Brazil. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from UTFPR in 2011 and has more than 7 years of experience in the electrical sector. His major areas of experience are Power Systems Protection and Control, WAMS, TWFL and Digital Substations. He currently serves as Lead Services Application Engineer at GE Grid Solutions.
Carlos loves music and when not working he enjoys playing electric guitar in a rock band.
