Rannveig LOKEN (NO)was elected by the Administrative Council in CIGRE for a four-year term, August 2024 – August 2028, subject to one extension of two years by exception, on proposal of the Steering Committee of CIGRE.
The Chairperson of the Technical Council will also be titled Vice President Technical. She is the first woman to be elected to the position as Technical Council Chair in the history of CIGRE. She was the SC B5 Chair between August 2018 and August 2024.
Some of the responsibilities of the Technical Council are the Technical Committee Strategic Plan, Developing the preferential subjects for the Session and the topics for the Symposia, Program committee for the Session, the work of the Study Committees and of the discussion meetings during the Sessions and Symposia.
