The DPSP APAC conference was held 8-10 January 2025 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong. Over 240 power system protection experts from 23 countries met at Hong Kong PolyU to learn about and discuss the latest developments in power system protection. The conference started with a Tutorial on Protecting the Evolving Grid focused on protection of power systems that have a high penetration of unconventional sources, followed by human aspects in system protection.

The conference program included sessions on various protection topics such as transmission, line, transformer, converter, and digital substation protection. Keynotes covered challenges for power systems in achieving net zero, protection monitoring systems, and protection challenges in New Zealand and Australia. The event also featured panel discussions, poster sessions, and round table discussions.
The Conference Dinner was held at the prestigious Cordis Hotel in the heart of Mong Kok. This evening was a good opportunity to network with fellow professionals and enjoy a fine dining experience in one of Hong Kong’s leading luxury hotels.
The final day included a technical site visit to the waste-to-energy facility, I Park 1.
